The world's only museum of the oil-bearing rose: three centuries of rose growing, stills, rose oil and its scent.

The new building in Rosarium park (2016) tells how Rosa damascena came to the valley, how it is hand-picked in the early morning and how it is distilled: 3,000 kg of petals for 1 kg of oil. You see the copper stills, the 'gyulpani' and the collection of vessels in which rose oil travelled to Paris. The shop sells oil and cosmetics from verified producers.

Good to know:

In May–June ask at the desk about rose-picking rituals in a nearby village; dates are announced each year.
