Koprinka reservoir

Nature / 7 km west of Kazanlak

A beach, fish restaurants and sunsets over the water; the ancient city of Seuthopolis lies on the bottom.

The reservoir on the Tundzha river is where Kazanlak goes in summer: a grassy beach on the north shore, canoes and surfing, the Zlatna Kotva and Lazur restaurants, camping. Seuthopolis, the capital of Seuthes III, was found during construction in 1948 and flooded; a project to expose it behind a circular wall is still on paper.
