Home of the originals from the mounds: the gold wreath and the bronze head of Seuthes III, the treasures of the valley.

Founded in 1901, the museum runs every tomb in the valley and keeps what was found in them. The archaeology hall shows the finds from Golyama Kosmatka, a gold wreath, helmet, greave and silver vessels, and the bronze head of Seuthes III. Other halls cover the National Revival, 20th-century Kazanlak and Bulgaria's first aircraft factory. If you plan to see the tombs, start here.
